When I was 25 yrs old, life as I knew it forever changed over the next 34 yrs.  I lost 4 siblings, my mom, step mom and mother-in-law.  I also moved my dad from Florida to be near me to help care for him after his wife past.  He’s been through 4 different cancers, the most recent being double lung cancer.  In the year 2000, our first born was diagnosed with lung cancer at the age of 11 (she is married and doing great now!)

After the birth of our 3 kids, I tried all things diet related to try and lose the excess weight that piled on over these stressful years.  I tried, Nutrisystem, Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, Slim fast, diet pills from a Dr. (bad, bad decision!)

Yes, I would lose “some” weight in the short term, but then once I went back to regular food, I’d put the weight back on and then some.  I wasted a ton of money on these weight loss programs for I bought literally into their media messages.

Our kids (3) at a young age each began travel fastpitch softball and baseball programs.  We were a divide and concur family, plus my husband head coached each of our kids teams up until they were probably in the 12 and under category, then he turned them over to other coaches.

During this time, convenience foods came onto the market, lunchables, bagel bites, hot pockets, toaster strudels, a multitude of cereals, bakery items, SAMS club bulk buying, cases of cokes, cases of Gatorade, any convenience food was easier on me with their schedules.  Drive-thru’s, Starbucks, eating at restaurants became the norm.  Back then we didn’t KNOW about all of the harmful effects of preservatives, additives, and the multitude of hidden sugars in everything. My weight got out of control, and I didn’t even realize it

Enjoy the show,
